Hey, Starbucks, what makes your "hey! let's use thicker cardboard and include that corrugated layer" idea when it comes to to-go cup sleeves a patentable idea? Hey, Coffee Bean, couldn't you at least try to come up with something that works better than a thin, glossy layer of poster board?
I'm no IP lawyer, but it seems to me that the only loser here is the consuming public. I seriously doubt that Coffee Bean is losing business over its crappy cup sleeves, so instead my guess is that the result is a bunch of people walking around with way WAY too hot hands (and/or the waste of oodles of Coffee Bean napkins, taken solely to wrap the cup for holding purposes). Heartbreaking.
Ok, that was overdramatic.
